Frequently asked questions
- How much does it cost to open a TOKIWASH laundromat?
- COMBO packages start at THB 669,000 for U1 and run to THB 2,620,000 for CQMBO-XL, depending on machine count and floor area. Please confirm current pricing with the sales team before deciding, as it varies with machine model and the actual fit-out required at each location.
- Is 0.89% per month expensive?
- The 0.89% monthly rate is a flat rate: interest is charged on the full original principal for the whole term rather than on the reducing balance. Over 60 instalments that is equivalent to roughly 19.9% effective per year, which is higher than a secured business loan. We publish both figures so you can compare our offer with others directly. The rate you are offered depends on the lender's assessment.
- How many instalments, and what is the monthly payment?
- Up to 60 instalments. For example, U1 at THB 669,000 financed in full at a flat 0.89% per month works out to about THB 17,104 per month, with total interest of roughly THB 357,246 over the term. A 50% down payment reduces both proportionally.
- How long does a laundromat take to pay back?
- There is no single figure that applies to every shop. Payback depends on cycles per machine per day, the prices you set, rent, and how many competitors sit within the same radius. Our calculator exposes every assumption it uses, and shows cases that pay back slowly as well as quickly. Treat it as a projection, not a guarantee of return.
- What is the monthly electricity bill?
- It depends on shop size, machine count, utilisation and — most of all — the type of dryer. Shops with gas dryers pay less for electricity but add a gas bill; all-electric shops have no gas cost and need no gas room, but a higher electricity bill. Measured energy per COMBO cycle is being compiled from operating branches and will be published together with the measurement method.
- Does a TOKIWASH shop run on gas or electricity?
- COMBO units are installed as standard with the gas dryer variant, because energy cost per cycle is materially lower than electric drying. That means the shop needs space for cylinders or a gas room and the related permitting, which varies by local by-law and by what the landlord allows. Where gas cannot be installed — in a mall, for example — the same model is available with an electric dryer.
- How much floor area do I need?
- The entry package is designed for roughly 25–35 sq m. Because a COMBO unit washes and dries in one machine, it uses less floor area per service cycle than separate washers and dryers — which makes small units viable that a conventional layout could not occupy.
- Is the Thai laundromat market already saturated?
- Nationally there is still room for more shops, but good urban locations are highly contested. What decides your outcome is not the national picture but how many competitors sit within your radius and what local spending power looks like. Survey competitors within 1–2 km before committing — and we will analyse your location free of charge, using experience from branches already operating.
- What if my loan application is declined?
- Approval is at the lender's discretion. If an application is declined, the usual options are a larger down payment, a smaller package, or adding a co-borrower. Our team reviews your documents before submission so you know where you stand early rather than waiting on a decision.
